Fire Safety Specialists

Amsco was set up by Kaj Haines in 2010. He knew that to differentiate his business from other fire safety businesses, he would have to focus on innovation. So, in addition to Standard sprinklers, Kaj chose to invest in the latest mist technology, which enables four fire-fighting methods simultaneously with optimal water usage: it’s a highly efficient and effective system.

Under Kaj’s leadership, Amsco has thrived and grown systematically year on year, boasting a 100% customer satisfaction rating. This success story is an inspiration for all, and we invite you to be a part of it.

The directors have exciting plans for Amsco’s future, ones that will ensure its position as a leading specialist in fire prevention technology nationwide.

The Team

Amsco engineers are trained to nationwide standards and regularly update their PASMA/CSCS/SSSTS cards. Our office team attend installer courses to work knowledgeably with engineers and communicate effectively with customers and our Designers regularly attend training courses for the various BS classifications.

Kaj Haines

Managing Director

Kaj founded Amsco in 2010 and knew that to differentiate his business from other fire safety businesses; he would have to focus on innovation. Under Kaj's leadership, he chose to invest in mist technology as well as standard sprinklers. Amsco has thrived and grown year after year. Kaj loves spending time with his wife, two Cocker-Spaniels, and his grandchildren. He never misses a Wolves football game, with all its ups and downs, while creating plenty of banter for his sons.

Jamie Haines

Company Director / Head of Accounts

Jamie joined Amsco in October 2017, bringing a wealth of experience in administration, systems, and accounts. He soon made himself a crucial member of the team. His ability to manage multiple projects and juggle responsibilities is a key strength he brings to the business. Jamie loves his family life with his wife and three children. He is a passionate Liverpool football fan and loves spending time proudly watching his youngest son play football at an incredible standard.

Josh Bennett

Lead Designer

Josh joined Amsco in May 2018 as an Administration and Trainee Designer. He learned the trade and earned a promotion to Lead Designer. We are proud of his journey with the business, and he is integral to its ongoing growth. Josh loves fitness and is an avid gamer. He is planning and looking forward to getting married next year.

Ed Williams

Service & Maintenance Coordinator

Ed plays a key role in coordinating Service Maintenance, Small Works and supporting Amsco’s growing operations. Since joining the team, he has quickly developed a strong understanding of the fire protection industry and built a reputation for his practical, solutions-focused approach. Known for his positive attitude and willingness to help, Ed is a valued support to both customers and colleagues alike. Outside of work, he enjoys motorsports, technology and exploring new places whenever he gets the chance.

Karsten Haines

Company Buyer

Another member of the Haines family joined the business in 2020, bringing with him real expertise in procurement. Karsten manages our store with supreme efficiency and controls all the business buying efforts. Karsten is married with two children. Football is a running theme in the family, and Charlton football club has Karsten’s heart. When not watching football, Karsten can be found with a fishing rod in hand, ensuring his peace and well-being!

Marie Haines

Company Director
Administration & Accounts Manager

Marie has been with the business since being married to the MD her involvement was a given! She has taken on multiple roles supporting the business's ongoing growth but has settled on supporting the accounts function with Jamie. Marie is the centre of the Haines family and spends most of her spare time with her two sons and their five grandchildren. We couldn’t do it without her!

Steve Jackson

Projects Co-Ordinator

Since joining Amsco in January 2025, Steve has brought a wealth of expertise in Project Management and Health & Safety, helping drive the company forward. A true petrol head, Steve has a passion for cars—especially of the Italian variety! When he’s not managing projects or ensuring top-tier safety standards, he enjoys car photography, hitting the gym, and putting his knowledge to the test at pub quizzes. Steve has quickly become an integral part of the team, and his skills and dedication will help Amsco reach new heights.

Smudger & Bobo

Amsco Office Dogs

Two of the hardest working office dogs. Their roles run to searching out food in bins, demanding walks and toilet breaks and general fuss and attention. They do, however, look after everyone’s wellbeing with a wag of a tail and provide a warm welcome to any visitors to the office. Do come for a coffee and some lovely spaniel cuddles.
